Etta James Dies at 73

Etta James, most famous for her song "At Last" has died today at the age of 73.

 

Born Jamesetta Hawkins on January 25, 1938, she was an american singer whose style covered blues, rock and roll, soul, gospel, and jazz. She started her career in 1955 and became famous off hits such as "At last", "Tell Mama", and "I'd rather go blind".

 

She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, The Blues Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 and 2008. She is ranked 22 on the list of 100 greatest singers of all time and 62 on the list of 100 greatest artist of all time.

 

She is accredited with bridging the gap between rhythm and blues and rock and roll.

Sneak(er) Peek: Air Jordan 4 (IV) "Military Blue" 2012 Retro

I guess this is proof of the the new and improved Air Jordan Retro 4 "Military Blue". It seems that the rumors about the shoes are making their miraculous comeback to the shelves are true. This 2012 retro edition is almost identical to the 2006 release with its mixture of materials such as the leather and nubuck upper. The slightest difference is that the accents on the 2012 version have a brighter shade of blue than the 2006 retros. These drop in the summer, so sneakerheads and shoe collectors keep an eye out for these because I know you've been waiting to see these kicks comeback to the shelves. Be on the lookout!

Common Drops "Stay Schemin" Remix Drake Diss, Beef Heats Up Between Drake and Common

The internet has been buzzing since last week about a possible subliminal diss record by Drake towards Common. The aforementioned track, titled "Stay Schemin", appears on Rick Ross's "Rich Forever" mixtape, which was released last Friday. On "Stay Schemin", Drake subliminally takes shots towards the Chi-town rapper by stating, "Don't be ducking like you never wanted nothin'/It's feeling like rap changed, it was a time it was rugged/Back when if a nigga reached, it was for the weapon/Nowadays niggas reach just to sell their record." 

These lines come in response to Common's song "Sweet", a track aimed at the fallacy of singing rappers, stating, "You ain't motherfuckin Frank Sinatra." Common has already issued a response, made public today, in the form of a remix to the original record by Ross and Drake...

Here's a look at the much anticipated Air Jordan 10 "Chicago" Retros. What makes these kicks so special? To the delight of many sneakerheads, this is the first time this colorway has ever been retroed. Originally released in 1995, this particular colorway features a white tumbled leather material with black and varsity red accents adding contrast to the sole, tongue, lace eyelets, inner liner and laces. "Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs?" Yes, the iconic Air Jordan 12 is back in 2012 in the original "Playoffs" colorway. Last week we got a first look (via theshoegame.com) at the Air Jordan 12 "Playoffs" 2012 Retro's. This Air Jordan 12 colorway has not seen a release since early 2003. The material and shape of the shoe seem to have little to no changes at all such as the red Jumpman and pull tabs on the heel. The upper will be a mixture of black tumbled leather with a smooth white complementing the black upper. The new year is here now so it won't be long until these desirable J's hit the stores.

LeBron’s Miami Heat teammates Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade were on hand, to celebrate as was Wade’s girlfriend, Gabrielle Union.

During the dinner, which was sponsored by Remy Martin V, LeBron proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Savannah Brinson.
